The Zaki (Delicious) Cuisine of Amman!
With Cindy in town wehit up all the Amman dining hot spots (excluding the Iraqi one with that tasty but crunchy baby bird... look below this post)

Yemeni restaurant, not sure how well known it is but its REALLY good. :) I actually can't even guess what the name is but they have a giant inflatable chicken outside which is how I spot it.Jerusalem (Al Quds) Restaurant Downtown
Gerards Ice Cream in Abdoun

Hashim's falafel (also downtown) where you can eat a full meal for about $1.50 each
Habibah kanafay. Kanafay is this cheesy oily sugary goodness that is a Jordanian institution :)
Reem Shawarma. We all ate here before even making it to my apartment the first night :))))

Dead Sea - woooot! (Cindy, Michael, Ernie, David) Me & David @ Bahar Mayed (Dead Sea)
At Mt Nebo, where the 'promised land' was first seen! Michael, Cindy, Elizabeth, Ernie)

Jarash Chariot Race... so bad it was amazing. Jarash colisseum
Being a tourist... but they were only $3!!!

I got a new tutor, Hanan, with her daughter Dana. The women in red is Patricia's coworker Lydia who studies with us as well.
Everyone again + Aseel, Hanan's other daughter.
SPEAKING of language instruction, check out what Patricia's students scribbled in the dirt on my car. Shame on me for having such a dirty car, shame on them for this hot mess spelling. See if you can decipher it, answers below.
Tiresha = Trisha
Vary pad = Very bad
Darte = Dirty
The other scribbles are their names, so the suspects even left proof!!!

Sometimes boredom forces us to act silly.... or maybe just BIJENIN!

Who wore it better?
Roasted baby bird from Zad El Khair Iraqi restaurant?
Or roasted baby child in the back of some person's moving vehicle? Ohhhh Jordanian safety laws....

Cool natural things in Jordan.
Askadeneeya Fruit. So delish, my favorite new thing I have tried.
Did you know that this is where an almond comes from? You can eat the whole thing. Really cool and really cool. "loz" is the name
A pretty butterfly I saw outside my apartment :)

I work hard for the money! Michael Patricia and Rula at the Yarmouk University job fair...
Here's Mr Abu Ashraf - the President of the Irbid Chamber.
The week prior at the J.U.S.T. aka Jordan Univ of Science & Technology aka "Techno" job fair. Workin that hat!

David Patricia Medhat and I at a viewpoint of the Sea of Gallilee near Umm Qais:
Before that, we are mansaaf (traditional Jordanian meal with pine nuts, rice, yoghurt sauce and lamb.. but we had chicken). And we are with our hands! My first time braving mansaaf sans fork:

More to come when David sends pics...

Pictures from Umm Qais... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umm_Qais)
Sunset over the Sea of Galilee
And now Jarash. So many colisseums with noone in them - perfect for photo ops.
Thats me looking confused down there. Jarash is an ancient Roman city in Jordan preserved pretty well if I don't say so myself.
Church inside Madaba with a 6th century mosaic map of the region (includes amazing detail of Jerusalem)
And yes, they allow this mess in Jordan. McDonald's walk-through. How dreadful!

Nico sent some photos to augment what we have already seen below.... Thanks!!!!!
Dead Sea at sunset

The world famous mud
And even more world famous floating!!!!

Trisha and I studying hard in Arabic class........

Bayt Ras! About twenty minutes away from Irbid:

Golan Heights view Patricia popping up out of an old water tunnel that stretches 30km back to Umm Qais (and from there to Damascus)
Roomies! Please ignore my lack of shoes, I forgot to pack tennies
Michael & Medhat
Same shebab, different view
The colisseum at Bayt Ras was only discovered in 2005... the old Roman city (complete with columns and roads) is still buried beneath the rest of the current city

Pella - one of the other ancient Decapolis cities (Umm Qais was another, as well as Bayt Ras in the next post)

Wessam being bijenin kitir
Hundreds of sheep just passing our path .... addi
Zoohoor wa Michael
